Nutrition at Nursery
We are passionate about the quality of food we serve our children and good nutrition is a major part of life our nursery.
Like you, we want children in our care to receive all the vital healthy stuff – and none of the bad things – they need to develop and grow. We understand the value of good nutrition at nursery.
Our Chef Lynda provides all of our meals, the ingredients of which are sourced from local suppliers. Hot meals are cooked every day onsite, encouraging the children to try and experience various flavours and textures.
Since the first meal of the day is the most important one, we also provide a healthy, nutritious breakfast every day until 9am.
Our main meals are nutritiously balanced to cover all of the major food groups and all meals are cooked on site on a four weekly menu rota.
Fresh fruit and salad are provided throughout the day alongside fresh drinking water and milk alongside good oral health.
Crucially, we discourage sugary food and drinks at the nursery school and are fully committed to promoting children’s health and well-being.
Allergies and dietary requirements
If your child has any food allergies, we will of course make sure they are provided with alternative options from the menu and any specific dietary requirements are managed for each child.
You may have already read from our Nutrition section that we are passionate about the quality of food we serve our children and good nutrition is a major part of life at The Montessori People Nursery School.
As we understand the value of good nutrition at nursery, we create our own menus. Here is an example of what we serve our children at The Montessori People nursery. We work on a four week menu basis so that the choice of meals are rotated.
