The Toddler Room is led by Miss Nicola who is supported by her second Room Leader Miss Claire. As well as being Childcare qualified both Miss Nicola and Miss Claire are Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding trained and Miss Nicola is fully qualified in British Sign Language for the Early Years.

The Toddler Room aims to build independence and learning by giving the children the ability to access their own activities allowing each child to express their own individual preferences and interest. Both Miss Nicola and Miss Claire have a vast knowledge and experience in working with this age group.

 

Here are some of the activities we enjoy in Toddler Room.

 Pouring Water

–  Shows control in holding and using Jugs to pour, Hammers, Books and Mark Making Tools.

–  May begin to show preference for dominant hand (22-36 months)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Exploring Animals

–  Recognises big and small things in meaningful context (8-20 months)

–  Beginning to categorise objects according to properties such as shape or size (22-36 months)

–  Begins to use language of size (22-36 months)
